And while we’re talking Baccarat……though this may appear like a repeat post based on the photo, as used in our smokescreen post, this post actually is about Bonham & Butterfield’s Auction tomorrow at 3:30 pm of lot 310, this 1965 Aston Martin DB5. Yes, the same make, model, year and color as James Bond’s. The auction will include plenty of other Bond memorabilia including original posters for around $150-500. In 1965 the DB5 sold for around $8,000, unheard of for a new car at the time. Converted from automatic to stick shift, new body job, British right hand drive, new sound proofing and all the bells and whistles to make it a fun ride. Attach that smokescreen button and all you need is the license to kill. Estimated at $300,000. BID

Something to learn before one dies: Baccarat came from Italy to France in the 1400’s and is now played at Casinos worldwide, usually in the higher stakes rooms. The name, Baccarat stands for a hand totaling 10, which counts for zero points. The purpose of the game is to get as close to 9 without going over. A close relative to Blackjack, there are rules of dealing. An easy learn, and to top it off, the numberless cards look better than any other game. Cards $10 BUY . Palette $80 BUY

What’s better than to have a humidifier you only have to check on every 4 months? Few things. The Cigar Oasis Humidifier keeps your cigars at 70% humidity (though adjustable if needed) and has a microprocessor to increase or decrease to keep at this constant level. Batteries last four months, and the reservoir for distilled water will get you past the four month mark as well. They thought of it all with this one. $80 BUY

Fred and Friends came up with a much easier way to light up a cake. Instead of 32 Candles why not have XXXII? A more traditional look to a birthday cake? We like it. For $5 you might actually save money on those older birthday celebrations. $5 BUY

Ambient, makers of the Desktop Scoreboard we recently featured, have truly outdone themselves – and many others. An umbrella that lights up when rain is coming? Genius. If rain is expected in the next 12 hours, the tip of the handle illuminates with a blue glow so you won’t forget it. The system wirelessly retrieves information from Accuweather.com – free of charge. Batteries last about two years (likely depending on whether you live in Seattle or Death Valley). Never forget your umbrella again. Simple – smart. $105 BUY

Herman Miller came out with the C2 Climate Control and though we can’t seem to nail down how it works – we’re impressed with what it does. Using 90% less energy than a space heater, this machine can increase the temperature 18″ away by 32 degrees, and more importantly – can decrease it by 7 degrees. This means your workspace or bed will forever be exactly the temperature you want, regardless of anyone else’s preferences. For those who are picky about temperature – this is right up your alley. It even purifies the air – and requires no water, has no heating coils etc. We’re not sure what goes on inside – but we don’t need to know. A lifetime of comfort for $280. BUY

AMX, makers of home-tech integration systems – has released the ViewStat Thermostat. While it might be hard to get too excited about a thermostat – this one impresses. 3.5″ touchscreen gives you indoor and outdoor temperatures, the unit links to remote sensors throughout the house that calculate how much heat or cooling is needed to average out the temperature you are looking for. Also gives you 5 day forecast through complimentary 3 year weather service. Programmable up to 4 temperature points per day for each day of the week. Faceplate is even paintable to match the walls. We assume it has all functions of our previously mentioned unit. We don’t think they missed much on this. AMX
