Sorel Ultimate BootThe Sorel Blizzard is not your lightweight boot.  The upper 2/3rds are made of Ripstorm water and wind resistant material and the boot itself is rated to -40 degrees Fahrenheit….which seems reasonable.  The inner boot is easily removed for washing and is made of recycled materials – and to top it all off the sole is made of a non-scuffing material.  It would appear they thought of everything.  Prepare for the coming snow season the right way.  $68 BUY

Classic TelephoneAnother classic phone comes out of the design world.  This time the Swiss have done it – and though you may not need a land line (and may not even have one) if you do – hook this up to it and put it somewhere in the home office.  Think of it as functional art.  This was standard issue by the Dutch telephone company Bundespost.  We’ve seen a few “telephone rooms” and assuming you don’t live on real estate pricing you out of devoting an entire room to a phone – go for it.  $300 BUY

Checklist NotebookThe Action Runner by Behance outfitter will likely increase your productivity if you are anything like us.  With a built-in checklist you can end your day knowing you did what you had to.  While many will say that any PDA or iPhone can do the same (and indeed they can) there is something about a piece of paper – that can’t be turned off, nor hidden in an electronic folder – reminding you to look at it.  For us, this is productivity in it’s purest form.  Back of pages have dotted graph paper for sketching.  $10 BUY
