In April of this year, 253,190 U.S. passengers had their luggage sent to the wrong place. American Airlines alone lost 38,454 just in April. New charges have just gone into effect for checked bags on some airlines. So now imagine heading to the airport with only your wallet and a magazine, no TSA baggage screening, no waiting at the carousel, no lugging, no carts. The Luggage Club will pick your bags up at your home, and deliver them to your destination for less than one would think. A set of golf clubs from San Francisco to Sun Valley, Idaho round-trip is about $140. That means you only handle them on the course. Business for such services has increased 500% in the last year, and we think it’s time to take them up on their offer. Bags insured for $1,000 each and you get a tracking number. BUY

Land Rovers originally were invented when Willy’s jeeps left in England following World War II finally met their maker. Intended to be farming vehicles, the high and low geared 4 wheel drive Series I was exported everywhere the British empire reigned. Africa, India, and beyond became populated with them, and the four-wheeling functionality was put to use in the brush and mountains. When the U.S. placed requirements that all imported new cars have airbags, Land Rover stuck to their original core vehicle values and refused. No longer are new Defender’s sold in the U.S. So for Land Rover’s 60th Anniversary Defender - complete with satellite navigation, Recaro seats, iPod compatibility and USB input - it’s best to head to Australia where they were just released. 1,800 will be produced worldwide and they are sure to be grabbed quickly. Interior photo after the jump. US $60,000. BUY

And while we’re talking Baccarat……though this may appear like a repeat post based on the photo, as used in our smokescreen post, this post actually is about Bonham & Butterfield’s Auction tomorrow at 3:30 pm of lot 310, this 1965 Aston Martin DB5. Yes, the same make, model, year and color as James Bond’s. The auction will include plenty of other Bond memorabilia including original posters for around $150-500. In 1965 the DB5 sold for around $8,000, unheard of for a new car at the time. Converted from automatic to stick shift, new body job, British right hand drive, new sound proofing and all the bells and whistles to make it a fun ride. Attach that smokescreen button and all you need is the license to kill. Estimated at $300,000. BID

Ambient, makers of the Desktop Scoreboard we recently featured, have truly outdone themselves - and many others. An umbrella that lights up when rain is coming? Genius. If rain is expected in the next 12 hours, the tip of the handle illuminates with a blue glow so you won’t forget it. The system wirelessly retrieves information from Accuweather.com - free of charge. Batteries last about two years (likely depending on whether you live in Seattle or Death Valley). Never forget your umbrella again. Simple - smart. $105 BUY
