Best Rowing MachineIn late 1989, John Duke invented the water powered rowing machine to simulate the sound and feel of real rowing.  Contrary to modern ergometers, this is the basic with only a timer.  No odometer, no strength or resistance meter.  This is a rower for the sake of rowing.  Hear the water, feel the water and do it without the metrics.  Row Indoors.  $1500 BUY

Tom's Poe ShoeMaybe replace your slippers at home with these Tom Poe shoes.  Since inception in 2006, Tom’s has quickly become a popular company.  For every pair of shoes sold, the company donates a pair of shoes to a child in need.  And the shoes themselves couldn’t be simpler.  A soft leather insole and durable rubber bottom mean you see what you get.  The design is based on the Espadrille or Argentinian Alpargata where they have been worn for over 100 years.  So for $54 you’re helping a kid in need and getting decent shoes.  Grab the paper and your coffee, we like them.  $54 BUY

We found it interesting that Oliver Peoples parent company, Luxottica Group, also owns Ray-Ban and Persol.  Needless to say these Fellini-esque tortoise shell retro shades are made from all the best things.  Hand sculpted with miniature pin detail and optional Polarized or Photochromatic lenses make these the ones you’ll keep for years to come.  Consider it an investment in your vision.  $325 BUY

t-rex for saleOne of the three most complete Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton’s ever discovered will be auctioned on Saturday, October 3rd at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.  Yes, you’ve been wondering what your bachelor pad needed, and we’ve found it.  Put it above the stove, or in the corner of your garage.  Offer it a drink, stare at, offer it another drink.  It’s yours.  Excavated near Buffalo, South Dakota about fifteen years ago, “Samson” as he is nicknamed, is approximately 66 million years old.  There are 170 bones, and scientists believe he died of either disease or head trauma.  When he was alive, he was about 40 feet long and two stories high.  Bonham’s & Butterfield states that a similar auction in 1997 fetched $8.3 million, but the auction house is keeping this estimate a secret until the paddles start flying.  Approx. $8.7 million.  BID

Pininfarina has designed incredible cars for almost eighty years.  You may have seen some of its designs.  Look out your window, there they are.  Volvo and Ford to Maserati, Ferrari, Jaguar and Rolls Royce.  All have employed the same one company to design cars – Pininfarina.  So when we heard that you, personally, can hire the company to custom build you a car, we were impressed to say the least.  The latest and greatest example of such a custom-build, is the Hyperion.  Roland Hall, a Rolls-Royce collector, liked cars from the 1930s, so he asked Pininfarina to design him something that evoked that style, but with today’s power and safety.  Roland also liked Chris-Craft type boats, so boat builders made a convertible cover concealer out of the very same material.  Why not.  Roland, we suspect, likes his new car.  $CUSTOM BUY

Buy Madmen CigarettesIf you’ve tuned into Madmen and wondered how Jon Hamm and the crowd can avoid lung cancer and heart disease after one episode, wonder no longer.  “We smoke the fake ones” Hamm once said, “or else we’d all be dead.”   The non-smoking cast of the show, smoke only Ecstacy Herbal Cigarettes.  Usually used to help quit smoking, these cigarettes uniquely have no nicotine and no tobacco but light up and smoke as though they were tobacco.  So if you’ve already picked up the nasty habit, pop in a pocket square, grab a glass of scotch, and light one of these.   10 Packs for $49.  BUY

Carter Kustera is under contract for Jonathan Adler to paint customized portraits.  You send in your photo and he paints your profile.  Best part is, you can customize the tagline underneath.  While Adler suggests the following for a mistress: “Tina – They’re not real, but they’re paid for” we may go for something less…well something less.  The dog can even have his own.  $450 BUY

The 1939 Auto Union ‘D-Type’ has been found, and will be sold this Friday, August 14th.  Was it lost?  Yes.  In the Spring of 1945, after winning multiple Grand Prixs, Soviet Forces in Germany loaded all known D-Types onto a train for the Soviet Union in hopes of reverse engineering this marvel of mechanics.  So all known existing models, totaling only 13 cars, were loaded onto the train and transported to NAMI motor industry research institute in Moscow.  During the research, four of the thirteen were completely dismantled and destroyed during analysis.  The others were dismantled over the years for industry research by governments.  One was even sent to a museum and eventually sold to Audi.  Then in the 1950’s a Russian born American investigated the remaining nine cars, and found one intact chassis, #19.  He successfully traveled Europe finding the remaining authentic parts and completed Chassis #19.  So this Friday, if you have an estimated eight to ten million dollars between the couch cushions, head on over to Carmel. $8,000,000 – $10,000,000 BID

Best ShowerWhat’s better than four rows of water plus a full 1 foot waterfall on top you?  We’re sure there are better ways to wake up, we just can’t think of them.  Watermonopoly seems to do just that when it comes to the shower, claim a full monopoly on the simplest solution to go from one spout to a classy full body experience.  This unit won’t take up too much room, in fact all you need is a drain on your floor and the curtain bar is already in place.  Even has “thermostatic control” which means you can find your perfect temperature and never have to set it again.  For those mornings where all neurons have yet to fire, this seems to be the perfect solution.  $TBA BUY

Best DOB KitThis Brooks Brothers Dob kit does take the best of the best.  Form the German stainless steel tools, to the finished leather, we like it.  The kit includes nail and cuticle scissors, nail file, nail clippers, toe nail clippers, tweezers, and the brooks brothers shoe horn.  Hang it on the hook at the hotel, and it opens to a full 29″ meaning it can store everything else you might need in your travels for grooming.  Best of all, the pric just dropped, from $500 to $100.  That got our attention.  $100 BUY
