Land Rovers originally were invented when Willy’s jeeps left in England following World War II finally met their maker. Intended to be farming vehicles, the high and low geared 4 wheel drive Series I was exported everywhere the British empire reigned. Africa, India, and beyond became populated with them, and the four-wheeling functionality was put to use in the brush and mountains.
